Guns N’ Rosaries

Just heard on CBC news that the US government considers churches and gun shops to be ‘essential services’ …

… words … fail …

Over here it’s bottle shops and hairdresses! Gun sales are up but the state government has placed limits, thank goodness.

No gun shops here…churches closed, but alcohol shops are ‘essential’.

Some businesses in England are likely to notice that the down-turn continues for them after this is all over with (please let it be over with, and let me – and all others – be alive then). Canal businesses who provide essential services are shutting up shop – not leaving open things like water taps, septic tank sluices and rubbish points, just locking up and going home. No-one would expect them to open as usual, but they could – as many others have – leave stuff unlocked, supervise from a distance, check and spray and wotnot out of hours, and keep themselves safe at the same time. I’m sure that I am not alone in saying that provided I live, I will always remember this, and those total-closure businesses will never see another brass farthing from me. Not vindictive, just a sane reaction to their demonstration that I can never ever rely on them. ;-(

Aside from that it’s all rosy here. We have no national “lock-down”-exit strategy whatsoever, no trusted news sources at all and a half-hearted and confused approach to infrastructure and services that is leaving everyone looking puzzled. 😉

To the closed businesses I say this – I have bolt-cutters and crow-bar (pry-bar, I think, in translation). They can sue me and I’ll be happy to explain to the judge, in great detail!

Gun shops? GUN SHOPS? Churches too – they are places of gathering, they should be closed, like movie theaters. People with faith could pray anywhere, can’t they? They don’t need churches. But gun shops? However I look at it, I can’t see how it could be ‘essential’. Makes me scratch my head. Good thing, I live in Canada.

  7. That be your dumb clucks. I live in California where we have a good share of them. Fortunately for us we have the “f*ng libtards” in charge at the present. Last week, a local official in a nearby town in the next county ordered a gun store to close because the local public health dept. decreed it was a non-essential business. I wouldn’t be surprised if the dumb clucking powers that be put their nose in this case.

  8. Toilet paper and alcohol seem to be the essentials here in Brisbane.
