Let’s Try This Again … Going, Going …

It seems my ‘chitis likes it here on Widder Island. I’m on my third week of antibiotics and I feel crappy, and if La La Land wins Best Picture, I’ll feel even worse. It wasn’t … terrible … but come on people, if you’re going to have a film about people who sing and dance, hire actors who can sing and dance above a B-movie level.

We return you to our regularly scheduled snow report.

Going …

How the mighty have melted

How the mighty have melted

Going …

Poor rosemary looks like a bunch of frozen twigs

Poor rosemary looks like a bunch of frozen twigs

Midnight at the Oasis …

Midnight last night ... Yep ... that’d be more snow! ( shot from the front door, cos there’s no way I’m going out there)

  1. I hate most musicals, so hadn’t planned to see LALA even if it won, and not if it didn’t, so no great loss there.

Singing and dancing is fine – but some of these plots are so thing it takes a Gene Kelly to make you want to watch. I don’t usually see movies ‘everyone likes,’ so I’ll take your disendorsement.

I’m so bored – the new meds steal what’s left of my mind – and there isn’t enough sudoku online for that condition. I’m telling the doctor to shove them tomorrow.

Hope you get better – where do these bugs keep coming from? Husband has one right now, and doesn’t really get that they are in my air.

I’m a bit of a musical junkie, so the bland/blah of this one was a double disappointment.

The bugs are indeed nasty. Mine’s actually been around since end of December-ish, and I’ll definitely be glad to see the door smack its ass on the way out!

Hope you get the meds sorted out soon.

      • I’ve stopped taking them.

Trying to figure out how to give this information to the doctor.

It is so peaceful, and I slept so well. I never had a BP problem before (that I couldn’t manage with meditation), and we all agreed I wasn’t a cardiac patient before.

We’ll figure out something – after I’ve felt normal for a while. And kept some records. If I can’t do it, of course I’ll reconsider, but I wasn’t given the chance. And every bit of their protocol conspired to put me into a category where I was on far more stuff than my body can tolerate and I got every side effect in the book.

I expected the night to be worse, as I was not responding to anything by taking anything, but I just kept going back to sleep every time I woke up.

This has happened – telling a doctor I couldn’t take the side effects – so many times in the past. My gut is a mess, but the waves of…peristalsis have quieted for the first time in weeks.

Wish me well. I know BP is important.

  2. Oh, the snow looks like falling stars! What a shot! (And my condolences on more of it, although since it’s only February, I suppose it’s only to be expected.)

My daughter and I were talking about LaLa Land yesterday — it’s getting a lot of press on the news here in Japan. I think we’re going to wait until it goes to DVD, even though it seems like the dance numbers would be more impressive on the big screen.

My YouTube feed was throwing up a lot of old-timey dance numbers just a few weeks ago, and that was a lot of fun, even in black and white. (-: Jitterbug videos are just what the doctor ordered for wintertime blues.

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers they ain’t, that’s for sure.

The snow was actually falling so slow and soft that my cellphone camera was able to capture them. 😀

Sorry to hear you’re still poorly, there’s so much of it going around it’s a wonder anyone missed getting something. News to cheer you up… La La Land was wrongly announced as a winner at the Oscars causing all kinds of drama, something called Moonlight grabbed the award instead!

  8. The grass is green under the snow! Wow. But then I don’t know what to expect since I’ve never lived in snow country. Did your disappointment turn into quick cheers when it turned out the Oscars made a mistake with the envelope? If only our elections had turned out that way.

I only heard about it this morning, (I checked the actual Oscar’s website last night and it said LaLaLand there) but it did put a big smile on my dial! 😀

  10. We had snow here today, coming down thickly in big clumps late morning, but now almost gone (4 p.m.) I took pictures of purple crocuses under snow — poor things! Hope your rosemary survives, and you too!

I haven’t seen Lala Land because of all the hype. I wish they’d stop making such a song and dance about it.

  14. I was having deja vu reading this post. Still sick and more snow! I’m wishing you a break from both. Spring is on its way and so is good health 🙂
