Yet another pointless act of violence. It’s just so awful.

I do think there’s a point, but not the one people are prepared to take a good hard look at. 😦

I’ve said this already in a few other places, but I fear this incident will just be fodder to those who wish to exploit division and intolerance to political ends. What the world needs is greater tolerance and understanding, not less of it.

Yeah, that herd mentality really sucks.

Listening to the radio news today here in Canada, it seems the headline soundbites are focused on the shooter. Trying to find reasons why, I suppose, but sadly the answers all seem to spring from the same source, fear-anger-hatred-violence. 😦

True. Very sad.

I wonder when we will cease to be a fear-full species?

The combination of insecurity and arrogance (which I suppose is also insecurity) that manifests in fear-anger-hatred-violence. Currently in our country, we have so many so-called leaders who are fueling the insecure, arrogant people among us.

Decades of that sort of short-term thinking is coming back to bite them on the arse.

Me too. I’ve really had it with guns and all this fear mongering. It’s insanity.

I’d like to think that ‘this time things will change’ … but … 😦

I guess there’s a senate vote on Monday about whether to continue to sell guns to terrorists. How can that even be controversial?

Like others, I just can’t click “like” on this one. I’m still so sad and broken hearted over it, and some of the responses that have come in its wake. But there is also hope in the solidarity, and the survivors, and the people standing up against the hate, too.

Perhaps this will be the catalyst … perhaps.

I like that you’re sharing this but not what happened. I can’t understand or bear to contemplate all the dreadful things that seem to be happening in this world we live in. If only we could kill hate and replace it with love, and understanding.

Even sadder now that the US government failed, yet again, to do ANYTHING about this insanity … oh yeah, they tried moments of silence and prayer.

Yes, it is terrible that we live in a world so fuelled by hate. It makes me very sad. ::(
