Curses! … Foiled Again.

Tonight the Geminid Meteor Shower will be at it’s most meteor-y.

Guess what?

It’s raining. Again!

In fact I venture to say it hasn’t stopped raining since I wanted to see the Leonid Meteor Shower back in November.

  1. Frustrating, if you really want to see things with your own eyes. At least a few things should be ‘real’ and not virtual, shouldn’t they?

Surely, there can’t be much more up there? It’s rained every day for a couple of months now; fortunately for us we’re not in a flood area, but we could give the Pacific coast a run for its money! In Cumbria and the Scottish borders people have had to be evacuated, and their homes ruined – what a thing to happen before Christmas…

  3. Will you get crankier as I write, “At least, the showers will happen next year.” I think that would be a cool drawing of the meteors flashing above the rain. I wonder how far above the rain that they’re visible. I wonder if they would start smoking once they enter a rain zone.

Promise I won’t get the crankies. 🙂 … sooner or later I WILL get to see one of these meteor showers! … I think they usually burn up before they get low enough into the atmosphere to be affected by rain, but the one’s that do probably get a nice sauna on the way down! 😀

It’s a conspiracy! I don’t know who is behind it, but it has to be 🙂

That’s a shame, but at least you’ll be able to console yourself by looking up at an almost equally spectacular nimbostratus raincloud formation.
