I’ve Been Awarded

I’m going to play – and change the rules a little.

This rather wonderful award came to me via a wonderful Taswegian* lass, the Meandering Matriarch … go visit … say ‘Hi’ … pat the chooks – they’re friendly.

The acceptance rules are as follows:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated me
  2. Place the award on my site.
  3. Share 7 random things about myself.
  4. Nominate 15 blogs. Let them know they’ve been nominated and how to accept the award.

So here we go:

1 – see above, and, “Thanks again, MM”.

2 – see above, and soon-to-be-on-the-sidebar, over there, to the right.

3 – 7 Random things:

I’m fascinated by Earth’s primordial geology.

I think Rock-n-Roll of the 1950’s-60’s is the bestest music eveah for dancing and making-out!

Hand-held puppets (the ones that ventriloquists use) give me the heebie-jeebies.

I’m a cat person. (read well-trained cat staff-person)

The three major relationships in my adult life have all been with Virgos.

When I see the first snowfall of the season I have to go out and play in it.

I have a terrible memory. I have ‘Notes to Self’ all over the house. Now, where was I? …

4 – 15 blogs (in no particular order) – This is the one I’m going to change. I’m not fond of this ‘tag’ part of the nomination process, (it’s too much like playing favourites in school when you had to choose kids to be on your ‘team’. There was always someone who didn’t get picked) so I’m going to go with 15 out of the whole bunch of blogs I regularly read and find value in.  Some are professional blogs about writing, some are just for fun, and some are frogs**. Please feel free to play this game as you wish and do steps 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Congrats on the award, Widdershins! I’m a cat person as well (still in training…there’s still so much I don’t do to their liking.) The puppets thing cracked me up. Some of them look real enough that it is weird to watch.

Thanks for including me in your list of blogs. If I didn’t get stumped on the 7 facts about myself, I would surely stumble on the nomination of 15 blogs. I don’t know that I could narrow it down. Ah- I can be indecisive…there’s one fact about me 🙂

  2. You definitely deserve the award, Widdershins. Whoo-hoo!

And, here I was moaning about how I wouldn’t mind have an award of some sort for blogging. Of course, there is the fact that I haven’t been blogging much. I didn’t realize my “woe is me” vibes had worked its way up to your neck of the woods. Thank you very much for turning my bloggy frown upside down. I verily appreciate being included on your list of 15….Ah, Virgos. They’ve surrounded me all my life, including the Mama.

Here’s me late as usual. Congratulations! And thanks! 😀

Interesting quote, given who it’s from. Nicholas Sparks and Nicholas Hornby write about relationships, and I don’t think they’re considered NBN material. While Atwood and Toni Morrison write about relationships, and they get awards. Whether Picoult fits into the former category or the latter I don’t know cause I haven’t read her… my instincts say the former, but the rate at which she writes might be prejudicing me, lol.

I’ve read a couple of her novels and I’m impressed with the quality of her writing … not my cup of tea however … but certainly award material. I don’t know when she said that quote though. So she could think differently these days.

  4. Heh, I only just noticed the nomination — thanks! I wasn’t online much when you wrote this, and I’m only slowly starting to catch up. Since I’m still in catchup mode, I’ll just have to see if I can get around to the “acceptance.” 🙂
