I’d considered composing a delicate ditty to bring in the Year at a trot.
Wherein I would wax wisely, although just a touch derisively, about …
… resolutions … (the New Year’s kind)
… and convolutions …
… of how we fool ourselves, a lot.
But my seriousness failed me, humour assailed me, and I posted this picture instead!
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you too! May your year be filled with delicious gazelles.
Resolutions are an exercise in self-improvement. Get fit, lose weight, do the things we know we should but often avoid anyways. Gyms and diet clinics make their annual budgets based on the number of people who start the year with good intentions and fade to inertia by mid-February.
Perhaps catching the gazelle isn’t the point – it’s finding the gazelle, plotting its capture, and the chase that is really important.

Haven’t had time to really get serious about goals but have general idea of what I want to do.
Like the comment above, I think it’s the journey that’s important not the end result.

Yeah … those huge resolutions at the beginning of the year tend to really set us up for a fall by about … mmm … March!

Hahahahaha. I believe that is what the stray cat who adopted us thinks each and every day. Hopefully, he does not see any of us as a gazelle or a zebra. A glorious rocking 2012, Widdershins!

Happy New Year to you! I’m not big on new year resolutions but I do try to keep working towards goals all year long. I remember when I used to go to the gym regularly I hated January because for a few weeks we could never get the equipment we wanted due to all the resolutionists.

I love the lioness picture. She looks deep in thought…good thing she didn’t see the person with the camera 😉

Probably decided that it was no fun chasing after something that couldn’t run very fast.
