Art into Film
Art Auction Extraordinaire
JULY 17, 2:00-5:00 PM
5461 Noon Road, Bellingham 98226
Independent film-maker Mary-Ellen Maynard has a vision—a vision so powerful she is willing to sell the art she has collected over three decades in order to realize it. She wants to complete her ground-breaking documentary on gender-bending chemicals in our environment. These chemicals, called endocrine disruptors, may affect reproductive anatomy, sexual behavior and gender identity. They are being sprayed on food crops, implanted into livestock, and released into waterways. Where do these chemicals come from and why are they being unleashed on an unsuspecting public? Mary-Ellen’s film will provide some answers.
We are supporting Mary-Ellen’s efforts by holding a private art auction at our home. Our goal is to raise $3000 so Mary-Ellen can buy a high-quality video camera and take the next steps in completing her film. Art for a wide variety of tastes and pocketbooks will be sold by silent auction, live auction, raffle and more. Here are a few of the items we will be offering (sneak peek at www.flickr.com/photos/walworth ).
