Cover Art and Contracts

I signed the contract this afternoon and mailed it back to the.. ahem .. my publisher…

Yee-Hah! Let the Games begin…

… we’re hoping for a release date by the last week end in June, (**restrains self from fainting**) which would tie in wonderfully with Pride here in Vancouver… this is of course at the whim of the editing Goddesses, whomsoever They be.

And now for the final cover art:

Thank you Dawne Dominique for your ability to sift out the wheat from the chaff of my ramblings.

“Dream on it. Let your mind take you to places you would like to go, and then think about it and plan it and celebrate the possibilities. And don’t listen to anyone who doesn’t know how to dream” Liza Minnelli

  1. Whoop! Whoop! Whoop! I’m excited for you Widdershins. If I saw that cover in a bookstore, I’d pick it up to find out what it was about. Looking forward to buying a copy. You go!

Great cover! What format(s) is it coming out in? Can I ask who the publisher is? (Or you can email me if you don’t want to write it on your blog.) I’m wondering because I used to work for The Chain bookstore in Canada, and still have friends and acquaintances there. If it’s going to be carried by them, or if it’s not planned on being bought, but it’s carried by a distributor who’s easy to order, I can see if someone in my old store wants to read it. Lots of the girls read fantasy and spec fiction (most of them really), and if they find something they love they’ll promote it. And I know one young woman who likes to keep her eye out for LGBT books in particular, and recommend them to teens and such. My email:

Oh that is so awesome!!! You go girl! Rock on and all that. I am so happy for you. The cover looks wonderful and I want to read it even though it’s not my usual read. I’m buying a copy that’s for sure. Have you thought about how you’re going to promote it?

Promotion? … **looks around wildly** what promotion!!! … seriously, I have promotion ideas coming outta my ears, some practical, and some not-so-much… but if you have any ideas you’d like to share, please post them here or send me a note via the ‘contact me’ thingy on the right…

… I’m spending the next few days organising my thoughts and will swing into action next week…. steep learning curve coming right up … just as well I’ve got a bit of experience promoting myself in a different lifetime and career so it’s not TOO scary or overwhelming …It’s kinda exciting when I get out of my own way!

  7. Congratulations! A great achievement.

I’m sure your publisher will line up a few book-signings for you as part of the promotional whirl – the line will form to the left!
